MS in Ireland-23

Before You Start

  • Make a list of all admission prerequisites and the eligibility criteria for the colleges/Universities you are targeting for. Also, make notes of any country-specific requirements (if provided)
  • Make sure you have arranged for notarised copies of the original documents.

Online Application

  • The universities/colleges have an online application portal where you can apply for their courses.
  • Some universities also accept admissions through a centralised admission portal called the Postgraduate Applications Centre.
  • Register with your personal details and always fill in all correct details, as written in the Passport.
  • Make sure you check your email regularly. You might be contacted by them, but get their emails in the spam folder as well, so be careful while deleting out spam emails.
  • In the online application, you will be needed to
  • Upload the scanned documents, records and certificates
  • Fill in the details of the candidate as mentioned in the Passport / any other National Identification Proof
  • Provide email addresses of your recommenders
  • Print the application form, sign it (if required) and upload the acknowledgement. Then proceed to submit the application.

Initial Profile Evaluation

  • Usually, your candidacy is evaluated solely based on your online application, with all documents, records and certificates submitted by you. You need to simply wait for any updates on the application status.
  • Personal Interview: Sometimes, there might be a Skype/telephonic interview, where you will be questioned on your interests and profile.

Document Verification

  • Sometimes, the universities give their final decision solely based on the online application. You need not submit any hard copies of the records and documents if you get selected; your documents shall be verified when you enrol with the College/University.
  • Instead, universities/colleges might ask you to submit the notarised copies of your documents. The second phase of evaluation is when you give the physical copies. You will then get the final result in a few days.
  • The University/college will send you an admission letter only after you confirm your admission via email.

Additional Tips

Follow these tips to make your application look more professional and stand out of the crowd.

  • Arrange the application records/certificates/documents in the same order as mentioned on the university website.
  • Draft a cover letter which lists all the certificates and documents enclosed (follow the same order) and keep it on the top.
  • Use good quality paper to have all the crucial documents printed such as your CV, SOP, LORs etc. Do not print on both sides.
  • Use paper clips to keep the papers together.
  • Write your name/assigned student ID/assigned application ID on all the crucial documents with a pencil. This way, your documents won't get shuffled with those of other candidates.

  • If you aren't keeping up with the given timeline, do not become restless! You can start a bit late or fall behind a few steps and yet manage to accomplish every stage by the given time.
  • The best time for applying to the Universities/college is immediately after the commencement of the application period.
  • Keep all your documents, certificates and notarised copies ready way before the application period begins, so that you will not lose time in arranging for it later.
  • The earlier you bag an admit, the easier the entire process will be.
